We see God’s glory displayed in so many amazing ways! His glory declared in the heavens. Psalm 19:1 states: “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork”. Observing God’s creation is one aspect of the marvellous display of His glory. However, the greatest revelation of the glory of God is in the face of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ! The Apostle John related the profound experience of being an eyewitness to Jesus while He was on earth: “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” (John 1:14). How often do we stop and take time to behold God’s glory? In the challenges and busyness of daily life and work, all too easily we can lose our focus on the eternal.
Our desire is that we would shift our focus from ourselves and our circumstances to the glory and majesty of our Lord Jesus Christ. The reality is that we become what we behold; what we focus on we conform our lives to. Incredibly, when we behold the Lord and His glory through spending time with Him and seeking Him in His Word, we are changed into His image by His Spirit. Scripture reveals this profound process of transformation: ”But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” (II Corinthians 3:18).
Gather with us as we gain a fresh vision of God’s glory and a renewed desire to be channels of His glory in our homes, churches, and communities.
Once again our Pathfinder Program (age 6-12) is being headed up by Jacob Evans and his great team of volunteers. Everybody involved loves their time in this theme based program that uses illustrations to open children’s eyes to spiritual truths. We’re not sure if the children or the leaders enjoy the time more, but both have a fantastic time. So don’t forget to sign your children up, and if your young people 15 and up are interested in joining in as leaders please fill that out as well.
Innovators (ages 13-14) this year is all about the mark that we are aiming for. We aim to challenge young people to think about their goals in life and to see if what they are aiming at is actually where they are called to go. May God use this time together to inspire them to ‘seek first His kingdom and His righteousness.’
Sunbeams (ages 2-5) will be a morning program for children to get their wriggles out and enjoy fun playing with other children. They will be joining in the Pathfinder program during stories, songs and scripture memory and then having open playing time for the rest of the morning. Sign them up for the fun and learning they can experience. They will be with you for the rest of the time, so this is a great opportunity to give them to be active before sitting with you in the sessions.
There are many opportunities for your 15+ year old to be involved. They are welcome to apply to serve in the teams leading Pathfinders, Innovators and Sunbeams, join in with the adult sessions, or serve in the kitchen with Pastor Michael if that is their bent. There will also be some specific student sessions that are chosen to inspire them to follow Christ and be in Prayer. During lunch and dinner there will be the opportunity for them to join in the Choir (ages 13+) and the Orchestra (13+) the music will be sent to you prior to the program, so they can get a head-start on learning the pieces before joining the others in practices which will end in a presentation on the Wednesday at the completion of the event.
For food this year we will only be providing Wednesday night dinner at Kilsyth South Baptist Church. For breakfast, lunch and the other dinners it is strictly BYO. There are plenty of options close by in Kilsyth South that you can pop out to and get some lunch, or if you prefer you can bring your own. However, there are no cooking facilities available, or fridge space, so please be as self-sufficient as possible. Feel free to eat your evening meal at Haig road so that you can get more fellowship time in with the other families.
We do not have many options for accommodation and it is strictly first come first serve, you are welcome to camp at Haig road, but there are only portable bathroom facilities. Please organise your own accommodation if you are able to.
